|

Assalamu’alaikum
I recently installed UbuntuMe by installing Ubuntu Hardy, adding the UbuntuMe repositories and then installing the ubuntume package.
Unfortunately I am having trouble with configuring Minbar. I am in Copenhagen, and according to the Danish Islamic Society (http://www.wakf.com/), prayer times today (17.06.2008) are as follows:
Fajr 02:26
Dhuhr 13:12
Asr 17:44
Maghrib 22:00
Ishaa 23:46
I am unsure which method is used to calculate these. However no matter which method I choose, Ishaa is always coming out at about 2 in the morning (with Fajr one hour earlier). Please can you tell me what I am doing wrong or point me to a guide? Thank you.
Also my times are coming out wrong in the Firefox "Pray Times" plugin. Again, any pointers on how to configure it?
Thank you, this is a lovely distribution.
Jamal. |

Assalamualaikum
There is a prayer time 1.1.13 as a firefox add-on extensions. Here, in PrayerTimes I can do customization for prayer time calculations. Also, it provides a link for the detail calculation
I am just wondering, how can I get the "Mimbar "..it looks better. |

I am sorry... I have found the "Minbar"
Located here: Applications - Accessories ( why not under Applications - Islamic software ), can I move it here..?
I open it ... and it shows the same problem (as brother Jamal reported)..incorrect prayer times (although the location and calculation method are the same with that of firefox prayer time). |

Salam,
This sounds like a problem I had once. What I realized was that you must set the time zone yourself. If you're in Copenhagen then your time zone would be +1, I think. If your time zone is correctly set up in the first place then just adjust it until the prayer times are consistent with Danish Islamic Society. |

Thank You very much .... it is so simply.
I was thinking when we select the city it adjust the time zone automatically. Now it is very close to the prayer times in firefox add-on extensions. |

The .deb file is not updated to use the new Islamic Sofware menu.
and overwrite the current file:
| Code: | | sudo cp minbar.desktop /usr/share/applications/minbar.desktop |

Hamdulillah, I still can't get Minbar configured even changing the time zone.
Can you do me a favour please? Tell me what options you have yours set to, which city you are using and what results you get today/tomorrow or whenever.
I just want to see it giving a correct result and then hopefully I can customize it to what I need.
Thanks again

In Minbar.. I just go to Preferences - Find city and select the closest city where I live now. Once it is selected then I set the time zone (Manually). "yghannam" reminded us to do that.
I think you have to check the latitude and longitude..you can adjust them manually.
In Advance tab, I use Muslim World League (MWL), the same selection with the Prayer Times Firefox Add-on extension.
The difference is that in Firefox ...for Magrib and Isya.. around 1-2 min ahead. I think, because of the calculation method. In Firefox I use the default 17 degrees for Isya. In Minbar, I could not find a way to adjust the calculation method, we have to select one of the standard methods available (no customization allowed) |
