بامكانك على حد السواء، إما تثبيت النسخة اﻹسلامية، أو تحويل التثبيت القياسي ﻷوبونتو:

اتبع هذه المراحل إذا كنت لا تملك أي نظام تشغيل مثبت على حاسوبك

قم بتنزيل و حرق (burn) قرص الديفيدي <من هذا الرابط>

إذا لم ترغب - أولم تستطع- تحميل نسخة DVD من الانترنت، فإنه يمكنك شراؤها من <هذا الرابط>.

ثم قم بتثبيته تماما كتثبيت القرص القياسي ﻷوبونتو كما في <هذه الوثيقة>.

When your system is installed, download and burn the second CD: بعد تثبيت النظام، قم بتنزيل و حرق (burn) القرص المدمج الثاني:

لتثبيته:

• اذهب إلى “نظام→اﻹدارة→Software sources”
• انقر على اللسان “Third Party Software”
• انقر على “Add CD-ROM” ثم أدخل قرصك المدمج
• انقر على “Close”

افتح اثر ذلك شاشة طرفية (تطبيقات→ملحقات→طرفية) و اكتب فيها:

sudo aptitude update
sudo aptitude install aptoncd-metapackage
sudo aptitude upgrade

اتبع هذه المراحل إذا كنت قد قمت بتثبيت أوبونتو من قبل على حاسوبك

To convert Ubuntu 8.04 (”Hardy Heron”), follow these steps:

Open a terminal window (Applications→Accessories→Terminal), and execute the following command:

gksudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list

Add the following lines at the end of the file:

deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/ubuntume.team/ubuntu hardy main # Ubuntu Muslim Edition
deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/ubuntume.team/ubuntu hardy main # Ubuntu Muslim Edition

Save the file and close the editor.
Run the following command:

sudo aptitude update

Then install the ubuntume package:

sudo aptitude install ubuntume

Answer ‘Yes’ when needed.
If you want to install the optional package WebStrict (Web Content Filtering tool), just run the following command:

sudo aptitude install webstrict

Finally, restart your computer to apply changes.

Report any problems on the forums.

To convert an older version (Ubuntu Gutsy (7.10), Feisty (7.04), Edgy (6.10) or Dapper (6.06)), follow these steps:
Download this file on your desktop.
Open a terminal window (Applications→Accessories→Terminal) and move to the Desktop directory:

cd ~/Desktop

Make the script executable by running this command:

chmod u+x install-ubuntuME.sh

Then run the script with root privileges:

sudo ./install-ubuntuME.sh

You will be asked to accept the Java license and Zekr terms (disclaimer and Quran translations licenses). The script will install: islamiccal, ubuntume-artwork, ubuntumewcc, minbar, zekr, sun-java6-jre, flashplugin-nonfree.

Then the configuration process will ask you if you want to :

• update your GRUB splash and usplash pictures
• change your GDM splash screen
• change your Theme
• change your wallpaper
• change your Firefox toolbar theme
• configure your screensaver
• update your login sound
• install Dansguardian and Tinyproxy and configure them to filter web content

For each question answer yes (y) or no (n).
